the Gold Shiny Thing ⭐️
It’s okay to admit that you want the Gold Shiny Thing.
Okay, maybe it's not the Gold Shiny Thing (that’s just me, I am an actor after all). But your Gold Shiny Thing — whatever that is to you.
I look around and feel like a lot of messaging lately is telling us we can want what we want, but we should also be okay with not getting it because we don’t need the pressure. It's not the end of the world.
Do you notice that you talk yourself out of wanting to accomplish something?
Like, “I’ll try, but it’s totally cool if I never get the Gold Shiny Thing. I’m having fun along the way.”
And then you stop admitting to yourself that you want the Gold Shiny Thing.
And then you stop telling others that your dream is to have the Gold Shiny Thing.
And then you stop believing you can have the Gold Shiny Thing because a lot of others want it, too.
And eventually the Gold Shiny Thing is like “Whelp. She must not want me. Time to find someone that believes I’m real.”
Don’t get me wrong, life is 100% about the journey and adventures along the way.
And sometimes the end result doesn’t even end up being close to what we want — we get something better. Or radically different. Or something we didn’t know we needed.
It’s also okay (and necessary) to stop putting so much pressure on ourselves.
I talk about this all the time and wholeheartedly believe it.
But amongst all of this, please.
Don’t stop admitting you want the Gold Shiny Thing.
Don’t bury it down and pretend it’s not important.
If it’s important to you, continue to speak it into existence.
If it’s important to you, continue to take action to bring it to reality.
If it’s important to you, go fucking get it.
